After School Program
Grades K - 2
Connecting Science, Nautre and Art
Bus transportation is available
to Flanders from Bethlehem Elementary School
Students will explore the life cycles of frogs, turtles, dragonflies,
salamanders and insects in the various ponds at Flanders. The program
includes:
- Tractor rides and daily hikes through the woods to a pond with nets
and buckets. Who knows what the catch of the day will be as we practice
catching and releasing insects and amphibians.
- Learning about pond and marsh habitats.
- Discovering the resident beavers' lodge and learning about the habits
of these engineers of the wild.
- Listening to frog stories from around the world.
- Participating in a Frog Art Show to be held at the Woodbury Library.
This is a BRAND NEW after school program to be held at Flanders. Students
will need a parent note to give them permission to board a bus from Bethlehem
Elementary School and be dropped off at the Studio at Flanders where they
will be greeted by one of our education staff.
They should bring a healthy snack and be prepared to go on a hike and
do crafts, projects, etc.
