Welcome Center/StudioLocated at the main public entrance to the Van Vleck Farm and Nature Sanctuary at the intersection of Flanders and Church Hill Roads in Woodbury, the studio is used for administrative and program functions and serves as the welcome and public information center. A two-level building of classic post-and-beam design, it was built for Natalie Van Vleck in 1928 as an art studio, next to her farmhouse, which is now the residence of Flanders’ Executive Director. The studio is one of the larger, more actively used public spaces at the Van Vleck Farm, accommodating group meetings, nature programs and art classes, as well as the executive offices of the Nature Center & Land Trust. Public parking is available in the lot across from the studio, on the south side of Flanders Road. |
